Pangea Series: Iraq – Featuring Ezzat Haider

Ezzat Haider is a Kurdish Iraqi immigrant of the Yazidi religion who came to Moorhead in 2014. He will discuss why Kurdish and other Iraqi people had to leave their homeland and why Moorhead has become a center of Kurdish families, as well as continued efforts to raise awareness of the effects of ISIS on the Yazidi people. Pangea Series: Syria and ND – Featuring Marian Kadrie

Marian Kadrie is the daughter of Syrian immigrants who homesteaded North Dakota in the early 1900s. She will talk about why her father chose not to raise a family in Syria and her life on the farm. Moorhead Public Library

Pangea Series: Bosnia – Featuring Irma Ciber

Irma Ciber was a young girl in Sarajevo during the Bosnian War. She will tell us her immigration story, discuss why Bosnians had to leave their homeland in the 1990s, and why many of them chose to move to our community.
